Introduction

Hello and welcome to my website! My name is Peter Benne and I started Coastal Shaft Collars in 2021 as a side hustle to my mechanical engineering in the food processing industry. We used thousands of collars every year and a few things bugged me. The quality of the foreign collars we were using always seemed to be subpar and the price was high for what we were getting. I set out to make collars onshore using high-quality stainless steel and spending the extra time to make sure I’m delivering a first-rate product. Every edge and hole is deburred, the country of origin and bore size are engraved to make identification easy, and finally, every collar is rinsed, washed and dried to remove any oil residue from the machining process. My hope is that you enjoy the fit and finish of my collars as much as I enjoy making them.

Moving Forward

The long-term goal is to offer a comprehensive catalog of
collars in a wide variety of types, sizes, and materials. To get there, I’m going to be following the rough timeline shown in the image. The size range I'll be targeting is 1/2" to 1-3/4" in 1/8" increments. If demand calls for it, I'll add 1/16" Increments and metric sizes.
